Jack Aylward

Jack Aylward, Ed.D., is the director of the center and has been a licensed psychologist in the State of New Jersey since 1982 (#1670). He received his bachelor's degree in psychology from Monmouth College, his master's degree in educational psychology from Newark State College and his Doctor of Education degree from Lehigh Univeristy. He has trained and published in the area of gestalt therapy.

Dr. Aylward is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the New Jersey Psychological Association, New Jersey Academy of Psychology, the Association for the Advancement of Gestalt Therapy (AAGT) and the Gestalt Association of New Jersey. In addition, he has served in editorial positions with The New Jersey Psychologist, The Gestalt Review, and the Psychotherapy Newsletter.

New Book!

Dr. Aylward has published a new book -- "Gestalt Therapy and the American Experience." This book is a reminder of gestalt's early development in terms of its cultural and political contributions. With the genius of Paul Goodman, much of this new and radical energy was intimately integrated into what gestalt therapy would become, not only as a revision of Freudian topology, but as a major revolutionary therapeutic approach.
